Who is writing
I am a procurement director in Zurich, with fourteen years in the field across Switzerland, Benelux and Spain. I lead a team of around thirty people in five regions. My work, in plain terms, is buying things well: choosing suppliers, negotiating, and making sure that what was paid for actually arrives and that every franc can be accounted for.

What I am exploring
I have supported children's centres personally in the past. I am now looking into whether the thing I do professionally could be useful to organisations caring for children: an individual donor in Western Europe funds one specific item — school supplies, a laptop, winter clothing — I source and buy it, it is delivered, and the donor sees the invoice and the proof that it arrived. Nothing pooled, nothing general, nothing left unexplained.
What this is not
- There is no organisation. No legal entity, no bank account, no fundraising, nothing to donate to.
- I am not asking you for money, and I am not offering you money today.
- I never ask for information about individual children, and I do not want to receive any.
- If this ever exists: no image that could identify a child will leave the centre that holds it — no channel, no exception, not to donors and not to me.
- It would never fund buildings, renovations or fixed equipment. Only things that belong to a child and stay with that child.
What I am asking for
Five minutes of your professional judgement. Do you have concrete material needs of roughly 100 to 1,000 CHF that you cannot cover today, and would an arrangement like this be useful or rather unwelcome in your context?
If your answer is that this is a bad idea, that is the most useful reply I can receive, and I would rather hear it now than build something that gets in your way.
